On July 19, 2017, President Maricel Cobitz gave a speech that reviewed great Republicans in history and their contributions to our great nation. She discussed the Women's Suffrage Movement and the Civil Rights movement. The content of her speech follows:
We are the party that gave women the right to vote. We are the modern suffragettes.
We are the party that put Sandra Day O’Connor, first woman Justice, on the Supreme Court.
We are the party that Passed the 1957 Civil Rights Act and the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
We have been in the forefront of public Education. We started the Land Grant Colleges, and our own Stanley Tate started the Florida Pre- Paid college program.
We are the party of Jessie Owens, who humiliated Adolf Hitler and Jackie Robinson who de-segregated baseball.
We are the party that won the Civil War, the Spanish American War, built the Panama Canal & the Hoover Dam.
We are the party that elected the First African-American governor, Pinckney Pinchback of Louisiana in 1872.
We are the party that started the Environmental Protection Agency *We are the party that set up the Interstate Highway System.
We are the party that gave Freedom to the slaves. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Booker T. Washington & Fredrick Douglas, were all Republicans.
We are the Party that elected the first woman to the U.S. House of Representatives Jeannette Rankin, in 1916.
We are the party that founded the Tuskegee Institute and Howard University.
We are the party that elected the 1st African American Senator, Hiram Revels, from Mississippi in 1870.
We are the Party that started the National Park system under President Teddy Roosevelt. And founded Yellowstone as the first national park in 1872.
We are the party that founded NASA under President Eisenhower and put a man on the moon under President Nixon.
We are the party that made Condeleeza Rice The first African American Secretary of State
We are the Party that defeated Communism under President Ronald Reagan and President Bush.
We are Tired of RINOS who get into power and do nothing. WE WILL CHANGE THAT.
We are tired of the government killing jobs by putting burdensome regulations on our business. WE WILL CHANGE THAT.
We believe the government is the problem not the solution. WE WILL CHANGE THAT.
We are tired of enviornmental regulations that stop our enjoyment of our oceans and parks. WE WILL CHANGE THAT.
We believe in the 2nd Amendment and believe that honest citizens should be allowed to protect themselves not let the government take it away from us. WE WILL CHANGE THAT.
We believe in individual freedom not the “Nanny State.” We are tired of a PATERNALISTIC government telling us what to do. WE WILL CHANGE THAT.
We will not back down, We will not be silenced. We are the daughters of past proud Republican women.

As Ronald Reagan said “People who agree with us 70 percent of the time are not our enemies.” Let us work to bring more of our fellow Americans into our Party.
